I have worked in art all my life and watercolor specifically for over 30 years. In that time I have developed a number of techniques that have earned me signature membership in The Watercolor Society of North Carolina and memberships in the Georgia, Southern and South Carolina Watercolor societies. The awards I have won for my work have encouraged me in my process.
There is joy in the process and that being said, every new work is my favorite at the time. I paint on a number of surfaces and have recently joined the digital age which is a new medium in itself.

Living in the Great Smoky Mountains I am surrounded by inspiration and a need to capture the light and spirit of the the landscape and people.
Watercolor is my medium of choice. I love its spontaneity and unpredictable nature. I use traditional 140lb cold press paper, pure tube pigments but I also love plate surfaces where I empty a print brayer to make bold statements..
I am a member of a number of watercolor societies. Have served on the board for WSNC. My work is featured in a number of brick and mortar galleries and I love teaching watercolor wet-on-wet techniques. My favorite thing? The next painting on the easel. Joy in the process.
I use brushes, brayers and tubes of pure watercolor to paint my paintings.
